Case Study:
Commercial Client - Southampton

The Challenge:

We worked on this project as a sub contractor basis to help our client remove the silt from this parish council pond. This was part of an overall revamp on this area. There was an estimate of 750m3 to dredge from the pond. Average water depths across the pond ranged from 0cm to 30cm, with silt depths averaging nearly 1 meter!

Our Solution:

We spent the time working through the options with our client on the best approach. The pond was surrounded by trees meaning bank access was not possible except for a few small sections. We utilised the Truxor and a small 3t excavator and 3t tracked dumper to minimise compaction the ground.

The Results:

The pond now has been dredged down to the natural clay bed, all removed silt was placed in the woodland section and behind brushwood faggots ready for our client to plant up in the coming months.
